SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT

The 4th grade of the Building and Environment section in our school, has carried out a project based on the study of architectonic structures in metal between the end of the ‘800 and the beginning of the ‘900 in Italy and France, for this reason it was twinned with a school in Paris , called Lycèe Hector Guimard, a vocational school.
The surveyors class has studied in Italy with the teacher Francesco Bibbiani several structures in metal such as: The Suspension Bridge in San Marcello Pistoiese, The Food Market in Livorno, The Chains Bridge near Bagni di Lucca, The Poggio Fountain and The Eden Cinema in Pistoia, The San Lorenzo Market in Florence, The Church in Follonica and the Eiffel Tower.
After that the students went to Paris with the teachers Bibbiani and Di Pierro to widen their studies, to show their own works to the French students and to know what the French students had prepared for the exchange.
All works made by the Italian students, were translated in English with the help of the teacher Di Pierro and were shown by power point presentations.
The Italian students attended the French school for seven days, the lessons, the canteen and they appreciated a lot the welcoming from both French multiethnic students and teachers.
Besides the Eiffel Tower, they could know different structures in metal built in the city, with the guide of the French teachers and their students.
